The strength of Africa

Time is the biggest curse of our days, we never have enough, we always want more, we need more, we try to save more and not to waste any single piece of it... we plan every single step of our lives based on the time we have, and we do things only if they are really worth the time they take away from us.
This is how we approach life in Europe, we believe we are correct, we believe that this is the one and only way to live. But as we have seen in the past so many times, mankind is often wrong.
In Ghana there is a town, and maybe there are many more, where time appears to be irrelevant, where no rush is needed in doing things, where people's priorities do not exist: in this town people smile to every single second of their lives.
Men rest under the shades, children play with no toys, women smile while bringing loads of wood, food and water on their heads and little girls learn to become women.
I took this picture in a small village in Ghana in the north Volta Region. The girl was working hard to keep the fire alive and was cooking food for the family, I didn't really mean to bother her, but her father insisted I took a picture of her.
Dad was proud of her, a young girl with the eyes of a woman.
